Tsuyoshi Suzuki

Tsuyoshi Suzuki acclaimed producer, electronic musician and jet setting superstar DJ is a busy man. After playing new wave music in bands and creating visual and video art in the 1980s Tsuyoshi travelled to South Africa and India and was turned on to the trance techno scene. Hearing DJ Kudo playing trance at the Shibuya cave nightclub in Tokyo in the early nineties he was converted and decided to start Djing.

1993 saw Tsuyoshi move to London to further his DJ career and in 1994 he started the Matsuri Productions label as an outlet for his own musical creations. The following twelve months were big ones with Tsuyoshi putting out his first of many releases on Matsuri under the name of Prana and becoming a resident at the Return to the Source parties in England as well as starting to be booked extensively for overseas events.

Since the mid nineties Tsuyoshi has played some of the biggest electronic events in the world including the Berlin love Parade, The Sydney Mardi-gras, the Fuji Rock Festival, Tribal Gathering, Rainbow 2000, the Burning Man Festival, Earthcore, Summer dreaming and Return the Source. He has rocked dance
floors in most countries that have heard of electronic music, released various mix Cds (including the respected Break the System Down series), collaborated on albums and singles with various other artists and has been the musical director of fashion shows for Issey Miake and Versace.

In 1999 he started the monthly night Sympathy in Chaos at London's Bar Rhumba, which also spawned a series of more ambient CDs of the same name, and in
2000 started another monthly night Tokiodrome at the liquid room in Tokyo. Tokiodrome has been host to DJs such as Ken Ishi, Robert Liener, Nick Sentience and Mark Allen to name only a few.

In 1998 he started the electronic live act Joujouka with Takeshi Isogai and released their first album later that year. Since then Joujouka have released two full length albums (re-SEI and New Asians) and are currently at work on their third. They have played live at festivals and clubs across the globe including the Love Parade and Solstice music festival at Mt Fuji, Japan and started the label Feedback recordings and the club night Joujouka exclusive at Air in Tokyo. They have also played live internet broadcasts and exclusive lives sets on TV in Japan.

Sales Notes:

DJ SHUFFLEMASTER has come a long way since his early days releasing
minimal and funky? techno, first on M.C.Projects and then through the
SUBVOICE label set up with his business partner, HIDEO SAKUMA (aka DJ ZANK
or SUBVOICE). They released records by and collaborated with techno
luminaries such as DBX, FREDDIE FRESH, SUBHEAD, CARI LEKEBUSCH and many
more. After a string of EPS on Subvoice and a few guest appearances on
other European labels an album for Tresor followed which has established
Shufflemaster as a prince of techno in his own right. Since then he has
released the seminal Geylang EP and now this that comes with a fantastic
remix courtesy of Adam Beyer and Henrik B. The original track is quirky,
jumpy, almost on the ?lick-house? tip. Looping keyboard riffs, 808 kick
drum making the basslines and snappy hi-hat patterns of the original and
Hikaru Hashimoto?s remix turn the two A-side tracks into funky, minimal
grooves. The B-side remix comes from the other end of the sonic spectrum;
warm, fat and luscious, reminiscent of some of Detroit?s most memorable
moments but with that European lazy, loping groove. This is two of Techno?s
princes taking their music into a new, deeper dimension.
