Tom Harding has been pioneering underground hard dance on the dance floors of Europe for the past seven years. Having previously won awards from Mixmag and Club UK, Tom was immediately plunged into the DJing big league and found Himself spinning alongside such legends as Andy Weatherall and Laurent Garnier at the tender age of nineteen! From such a high profile start as this, it is perhaps no surprise that Tom is now regarded as a leading figure on the worlds hard dance scene.
It was perhaps when Tom headlined the 60 000 strong Dance Valley festival over the likes of Carl Cox, Hardfloor and Goldie that his time finally arrived. Having already been voted Hollands most popular DJ, Tom took the leap to a worldwide level in his stride, notching up a number one album and playing all across the globe from Israel to Ibiza and from Canada to Japan. He still holds his 7-year residency at the legendary HQ in Amsterdam and is credited with shaping the whole Dutch hard dance scene.
Production-wise, Tom is now poised to achieve the same level of success. Having had previous collaborations with people such as Jon the Dentist, 2002 looks set to be Toms coming of age year on vinyl. Previous collaborations with Nukleuzs Nick Sentience received great critical acclaim, as did a remix for Eves recover series, and if you add that to the forthcoming tracks on Nukleuz and Interflow, not to mention his awesome remix of System F then you have an impressive catalogue that should firmly place Tom in the production headlines.
As Muzik magazine said You can expect big things from this man.
DJ Highlights:
Dance Valley
Over the past 7 years, Dance Valley has grown to become the most important
festival in the international diary and in 2001 it went in to the Guinness
Book of Records as the worlds largest dance festival. Tom Harding
has been a central player in the festival from its inception.
The yearly summer festival has grown and grown over the years and has played host to every respected dance act in the scene including Carl Cox, Sasha, Hardfloor, Roger Sanchez and Dave Clarke to name but a few. Tom has closed off the hard house tents and stages every single year from the festivals start, but it was in 1999 that Tom closed off the entire festival above Carl Cox, Hardfloor and Goldie. Tom played to over 40 000 people and it was a set never to be forgotten. To underline this fact Toms subsequent live CD from the festival stayed at the top of the Dutch dance charts for an astounding seven weeks! www.dancevalley.nl
HQ
HQ has been at the epicentre of the Dutch hard dance scene for seven years
and has shaped the entire nations dance culture. From humble beginnings,
HQ is now held at Amsterdams legendary Melkweg club and has sold
out every month since it began. No other club can boast such a reputation.
When HQ began it took on Tom as resident where along with fellow jock JP, they began to shape the Dutch hard dance phenomenon. Over the years the club and its DJs began to gain an awesome reputation and HQ was voted Club night of the year for five years running. Every month there are queues right around the block to get in to the awesome event that is an HQ party and it is still the hottest ticket in town.
But it is the influence that Tom and the club have had on the Dutch hard dance scene that is most staggering. Before Tom and HQ there was no hard dance scene and now, seven years later, it is the largest scene in the country and Tom has been voted Hollands most popular DJ for the past 3 years. www.hqamsterdam.com
