Mario Più

Mario Più is not only a long established producer and remixer but also an international DJ with over 10 years experience under his belt, so we can say that he has spent half of his life with vinyls, studios, clubs, events, radios and interviews. He was really young when he started to use a mixer and both his infallible intuition and the strong creativity helped him to become the artist he¹s today.

But why ³più²? (That italian word means more- plus). Well, Mario loves the challenges and he always measures himself with his own limits. Like Kubrick with the cinema¹ genres, he likes testing, playing with the genres, re- inventing them, always according to his personal, unmistakable style. ³I like testing and looking for new language and expressions, but my roots are always in techno-trance and electronic scene.² Mario likes the risk and probably this is the origin of his passion for speed and for the legendary motorbikes, in fact he has got two Harley Davidson and a Ducati Mario Più 's success is due to his spontaneity, but especially to the international character of his sound. ³Music is a universal language, that can join together people all over the world. They can feel the same emotions in Australia and in Finland; this is amazing! ³

Mario Più comes from Tuscany, the italian region that some years ago contributed to the italian Techno affirmation and he¹s a part of the leading Italian Progressive scene that changed the italian nightclubbing trend. He played in clubs such as Insomnia, Imperiale, Aida, Ecu, Embassy, BXR, Matrix and Jaiss, during their best seasons. During the last years he played in the most important clubs of the world, such as the Temple (Dublin), U60 (Frankfurt), Passion (UK), Privilege (Ibiza), Slinky (UK), Arc (NY), he¹s a dj of the Gatecrasher¹ roster and he's often engaged in world¹s clubbing tours: Japan, USA, Canada, Malesia, South AmericaS

>From several years he¹s one of the leading Media Records¹ s artists, he¹s the A&R of BXR Label, the italian techno label in the rest of the world, and among his successes he counts some co-productions with international artists such as Mauro Picotto and Joy Kitikonti, Scott BondS He signs his tracks also with the Dj Arabesque pseudonym, he¹s the producer of the singer More and he has recently started a new project - Marikit - in collaboration with Joy Kitikonti. He¹s also a good remixer and he'd like remixing a success of Depeche Mode. His favourite dj¹s are Paul Oakenfold, Dave Clarke and Chris Liebing.

At the end of 1999 ³Communication², his biggest hit to date, sold over 200,000 units in the UK landing him a number 5 in the national UK chart. The track is now a true classic on every dancefloor in Europe with its legendary mobile phone ring wiggling in and out of the track. ³TechnoHarmony², released with several versions, was one of the Summer 2001 hit, then ³The Vision¹. 'Communication¹ was especially a radio success, while 'The Vision' is a classic dancefloor track and has been hammered by the likes of Judge Jules, Pete Tong and Dave Pearce on Radio One and in the clubs they grace. ' Mathmos¹, (on Sacrifice label), was played by Richie Hawtin.

The attendance of the world's clubbing scene has resulted in Mario Più recently receiving the Award for Best Techno DJ, which was written in the latest edition of the Red Bull Italian Dance Awards. In 2001 he entered 54 in DJ Mag's TOP 100, and now he¹s at number 85, while in England some authoritative magazines called him "The Italian Fatboy Slim" for his extraordinary creativity. He¹s a member of Metempsicosi (www.metempsicosi.com), the free association among six artists who share ideas, sound, successes and friendship; it¹s not the typical dj¹s or events agency, that only schedule dj¹s booking date and promotion, but a project itself. His latest release (2003) is "Devotion/C¹era una volta il West", a Morricone classic tune, with a nice, funny video, now on TV.

Called ³SuperMario Nazionale² by his italian fans now Mario Più is an international artist, loved for his original sound, for his productions, his energetic sets but also for his legendary availability and kindness with the fans.
