DJ R. Araujo got behind the decks six years ago, right about when dance culture hit Curitiba, Brazil (mini geography lesson: Curitiba is located in southern Brazil, just south east of Sao Paulo. It has roughly two and a half million residents and is world famous for its brilliant infrastructure, innovative solutions and its environmental and social policies).

With a strong musical background (including flute, piano and drums), R. Araujo went over to England in 1999 for a course on music production and discovered the sound of the London techno underground.

In 2002, R. Araujo went out for a BR909 Records european tour playing in cities like London @ Antiworld (The Rex) and Family Groove (George IV) and also in Birmingham playing at Cohesion (Subway City).
