Ana & David, a fixture in the São Paulo underground electronic music scene, met in 1994 and married soon after, at the legendary Hell's Club. This passion originated PET Duo, their Techno DJ project, which started back in 1997 PET Duo have their own style, and know how to work a dancefloor like few other DJ's. These two are intensly into their profession, doing heavy research to always have the most current releases from the techno world. One qualty which makes these guys unique is that they can play simultaneoulsy on four decks / two mixers or by themselves/individually, but they ALWAYS play together.
Their set includes many facets of techno, from the funkiest to the hardest, always dark and energic. They have played with the likes of some great artists, such as The Advent, DJ Rush, Cristian Varela, Christian Smith, Chris Liebing, Juan Atkins, Gaetano Parisio, Marco Bailey, Misstress Barbara, Mark EG, D.A.V.E. the Drummer, Geezer and Chris Liberator, among others.
The duo play regularly in many raves in various cities in Brazil such as: Megavonts(Sao Paulo,SP), Rave Circuito(Sao Paulo.SP), Rave Patrol(Sao Paulo,SP), Electronic Circus(Sao Paulo), The Joker (Mato Grosso), I Love You, Technera, Techcardia, TheInfluence(Piracicaba,SP), Moving, D-Traxx, Electronic Party, among others, and in clubs such as Hell's Club, ALôCA, Lov.e, Manga Rosa, Stereo, Club A, OverNight, Sound Factory, Cabral Tatuapé, Hype (Belo Horizonte), Bunker94 (Rio de Janeiro) and D.Edge (Mato Grosso).
In April 1999 they were invited to become resident dj's at an after-hours every Friday night at A Lôca, one of the most acclaimed electronic music clubs in Brazil. They are still currently spinning at this venue and enjoy highly acclaimed success and a huge following. Thanks to their hardwork at A-loca they have received awards and several nominations in the brazlian newspaper "Folha de São Paulo" for its annual, "Melhores da Noite Ilustrada" (Best of the Ilustrated Night). Back in 1999 the PET Duo and the after-hours at ALoca won this award as "Best Party" and in the following year they were nominated as "Best techno Djs", being pigeon-holled among dj's such as Mau Mau and Renato Lopes, two living legends from the brazilian electronic music.
The end of the 2001 year saw them nominated once again as "Best Techno Dj's" at "Melhore da Noite Ilustrada" and, in 2002, for the third year in a row, they were also nominated for the same award, reaching the top four out of all in their category.
Besides their residency at A-Loca, Ana & David play monthly at other clubs in São Paulo such as: Piranha, Lov.e (where they always play on four decks) and Club Hype (located in the same state as the Amazon, on 4 decks).
In 2002, Ana PET was selected, among 1600 participants, to take part in the Red Bull Music Academy, in London. Ana & David did a brief tourin the city, playing at Acid Park party and Dogstar. This actually wasn't their first appearance in the country, in September 2000 they had played at Antiworld parties, with D.A.V.E the Drummer, Chris Liberator and Guy "Geezer" McAffer, and at Remix parties, with Lawrie Immersion (Pounding Grooves - UK), DDR and Gizelle.
To add to their tremendously busy lives PET DUO have been promoting several parties within Sao Paulo, the projects have included huge world-famous DJ's and producers. The first party was a tremendous success, with D.A.V.E. the Drummer (Hydraulix-UK, Set'01). The second party brought the Belgian techno legend Marco Bailey (Session Recordings, Jan'02). The third party brought to Brazil the Spanish DJ Cristian Varela (Donkeyhead Recordings - May'02), for a four decks set. And in July, they did a party with Mark E.G.(Blacout Audio-UK), who did an impressive set with three decks and a hammer set!
As for the end of 2002, apart from finally taking up producing their own tracks, they'll be touring throughout Europe, including 5 dates in countries such as Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and Malta. This trip will be sponsored by Knee Deep Records(Owned by DJ Rush, who will be also playing on the tour). This tour will comemorate the couple being added to the Knee Deep artist management agency.
Immediately after their tour with Rush, they have been invited to spin alongside DJ/Producer, Cristian Varela from Madrid, Spain. Before returning home from this long and strenuous journey, they will stop off to play gigs in Grenoble (France) and Sofia/Verna (Bulgaria).
This couple has just begun their quest in the techno world, who knows what level they will reach in the years to come?
