Carl Hendrickse |  Book DJ

Since his debut at 21, at the beginning of the Acid House explosion, Carl has played a key role in the development of the techno / electronic music scene.

In 1992 “BACK TO THE PLANET” was born and over period of 7 years he was the bass guitarist in the band touring all over the UK and Europe with them (Henry aka D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Guy McAffer and Fil), recording and producing two cassette albums on their own label “ARTHERMIX” and releasing two best selling albums, four hit singles, whilst signed to a leading Independent label, “FFRR” from “London Records”

He spent the next 6 years building up his reputation as a producer and DJ by playing at all the major free parties that happened. During this period, he started “AUDIO PANKAKE” with Guy McAffer, The Geezer!. This duo act has gained him a secure place as a pioneer in the Acid Techno / Techno scene, sometimes having up to six gigs most weekends, taking them both to clubs and festivals worldwide. His first “solo” gig was for “RESTLESS NATIVES” at “The Dungeons” and he continued to play regularly at London’s “TRANCENTRAL”. Also appearing on the main stage at the BRIXTON ACADEMY in September 2002 at a benefit for the homeless, in front of an audience of 5000 people. He has also released material on Rowland the Bastard`s two Techno imprints “INFECTED” and “BIONIC ORANGE”. That same year, he decided to start another Techno act with Guy called “THE UNDERTAKERS” and continued to play at “GEORGE 4”, “GOLDSMITHS” and many other London parties.

From here on, Carl decided to slow down his artist schedule in order to concentrate on producing more of his own music. His unique style of funky, off-the-hook techno was beginning to distinguish him from the other producers that were emerging at the time. His angle was far different from the acid techno that was surrounding him ¯ that of soul and funk.

To add further to conviction, he has released music on “RAW” and collaborating with Techno Producer ANT on “INFECTED”.
The best is yet to come with Carl releasing more of his music on “VICTIM” and “WAH WAH”.
